Psychotherapy

”I am inviting you to think about psychotherapy as an intimate conversation about yourself and an opportunity to talk about things you might have not told anyone.  I welcome you to enter a reflective space in my office – away from the rush of the ongoing tasks of your life – where you can think and feel aloud, play, dream and experience without the pressure to act or react.  I am particularly interested in helping you to develop a greater self-awareness, to help you make choices that are a result of a full appreciation of risks, alternatives and opportunities.

What might bring you to psychotherapy is a crisis, a long simmering longing, or a sense that something is missing in your life. But more than helping you through a crisis, psychotherapy will help you develop your emotional intelligence and psychological growth.  In fact, I see psychotherapy as wrongly associated with “problems” instead of “growth,” and think about the therapeutic process as an invitation to help you reach your full potential in both your professional and personal life.”  I work collaboratively, empowering my clients to take an active role in their psychotherapy.  My clinical approach is multi dynamic, providing my clients with a customized and results-oriented approach.

My areas of expertise include: Depression, Anxiety, and Attention Deficit DisorderCouples therapy, multicultural therapy.  My training consisted of a PH.D. from Adelphi University in Clinical Psychology, Post Doctoral Training in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, from New York University and Couples Therapy Training from the Ackerman Institute for Family Therapy.  I see many individuals with diverse backgrounds and issues, trying to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves and be happier in their workalike and love life.  I see couples from diverse backgrounds using a systemic perspective, looking at the “dance” they create together, how they trigger each other’s vulnerabilities, helping them learn better strategies to improve their relationship.
